In terms of design and use of materials, the spacious pergola and luxurious pool house are a nod to the exterior of the villa and also offer security in the garden, where the open structure of the pergola strengthens the sight lines in the elegant, park-like garden. Because of the choice to use a limited number of plants in large groupings, a pleasant sense of calm and security has been created in the enormous garden.

The imposing swimming pool reflects the sky like a living canvas. ‘Unfortunately, we cannot enjoy outdoor swimming pools in the Netherlands 365 days a year, but what we can do here every day is enjoy the beautiful skies. The overflowing water and dark colours of the pool create a mirror, as it were, in which the magnificent skies are beautifully reflected. In this way, the swimming pool provides an experience of the garden, even on days when it is not possible to swim,’ explains Bertram Beerbaum.

BALANCE THROUGH CONTRASTS
The beautiful Giorgetti lounge furniture and outdoor terrace extension create the perfect setting for wonderful days and evenings with friends and family. The black-stained walls of solid red cedar combined with the somewhat glamorous design of the tailor-made lamp by Brand van Egmond and exclusive outdoor furniture create a pleasant, comfortable whole. It is precisely this that makes the design a bit exciting - balance through contrasts.

PRIVATE ISLAND
By installing an outdoor shower – reached via a path surrounded by greenery and screened by poles of acacia wood – Kabaz has created surprise and tension in the garden. The beautiful artwork in the natural shower area is by the renowned Studio Job. The children’s play area has also been taken into account. A private island was created for the children by digging a ditch adjacent to the parcel, which can be reached in any number of ways, including by a real zipline.
